Adolfo Gonzales is the Associate Director at the Office of Behavioral Health Intervention for the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) at Washington, DC. Previously, he served as the Chief Probation Officer of the San Diego County Probation Department in March 2016 where led the Probation Department with over 1,250 sworn officers and professional staff.
Gonzales’ law enforcement career began in 1978, when he was selected to participate as a San Diego Police Department Reserve Officer and was later hired as a full-time Police Officer in 1979. He advanced through the organization reaching Assistant Chief of Police in 2001. In 1996, Gonzales was selected as an FBI Executive Fellow, in Washington D.C. Adolfo traveled across the country conducting audits, inspections and evaluations of various violent crimes task forces. In addition, he worked with the Executive Office for Weed and Seed. In 2004, Gonzales became the Chief of Police for National City. He was appointed as the Chief Investigator for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office in 2013.
Gonzales earned his doctorate in leadership science from the University of San Diego. He earned his master’s in education from San Diego State University and his B.A. from National University in public administration.
